This is a blog about my brother, Deucer. This blog was born out of a need to keep our friends and family up to date while Deuce is in the hospital.
The blog remains as a way to connect to Deuce and post ongoing well wishes!
Please post comments! Thanks! Mary Deucersblog editor and dedicated sister

What's up Deuce man!
Hang in there... sounds like you've had a really rough month... I'm amazed at how strong you've been (even though we've never met!).
We are all praying for you and hope you get well soon!
Thanks Dave! Deuce gave you a big smile!
Hey Deucer,
This sick stuff has to stop... only 176 days to get in shape for the 4th of July party at my house! I'm counting on you keeping the Class of '67 in line... you know Fish Guy Denny Brauer will be the Grand Marshall but you will be the most important guy on the yard AGAIN... Hope you feel better really soon.. Jac
Deuce!
Hello from the Gremels! Ben says "HEY - quit tossing your cookies! I'm hoping that you are better soon!" Drew says "Man, and I thought foot surgery and crutches were torture. I had it easy!" Joe says "Do you have a Nintendo Wii? That might take your mind off feeling bad. Mom says I'm pretty oblivious to everything when I'm playing!" Tom says "Wow. No presents on Christmas. A drag. Make sure you collect interest on those and collect soon. You should be good for DOUBLE presents by now!"
Doug and I will keep you in our prayers. May you grow stronger every minute! We'll also pray for those doctors that they can figure a way to keep you at QLI and NOT in the hospital.
Love you Deuce!
Mary, you are a jewel.
Hey Deucer!
You are tougher than the entire Cornhusker Football team (even if they did eat 355 lbs of prime rib at Lawrey's in Dallas before the Cotton Bowl-probably why they lost!)We are praying for you and sending lots of good health vibes your way. You are amazing and an inspiration to us all. Is your sister really nice to you or does she just make it sound good to us? When you get well-email me an answer to that one! I've been wondering where all my "stephen smith emails" have been-now I know! I love you pseudo little brother-lots of prayers and healthy vibes sent your way-love-jenny
ps-Mare-you are amazing-i pray love and strength for you-love jenny
Deuce!
I’m Suzanne, a friend of Mary and Jeff’s in Minneapolis.
Let me just say you are the STRONGEST man I know! I had a hangnail last week and whined for hours! Your strength and perseverance are both amazing and inspiring! Please know you’ll continue to be in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Until then, my husband Matt sends his wishes for cute nurses to give you sponge baths.
Ms. Mary - we love you too and think you are the most FAB sister ever!
Sending lots of love your way,
Suzanne & Matt Murphy
Hey Deucer...
I only wish I still had my Mustang Convertible! I KNOW that would make you feel better. The boys and I pray for you EVERY night at the dinner table. They know your WHOLE story and think you are AMAZING! I KNOW you will be famous some day...maybe by book, Oprah, or Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (OK, maybe not).
I love you LOTS, and you are in my thoughts daily. Take care, and keep your awesome sence of humor.
Love, Kimi
hi Deucer,
this is MAXWELL! I hope you feel better. We watched Star Wars up to episode V. We have one more to watch. My mom said you like Star Wars too.
love MAXWELL
Hi Deucer
Hit wrong key earlier-not very good with computers.Hope everything continues to improve and you will be back at QLI real soon. Hang in there!
I understand that you beat your Mom several times today at the new game. Don't give her any slack.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you soon. Will send something with your Mom-don't show anyone else.
Deuce,
This is my first ever blog (entry or viewing)!
I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to visit while I was in NE. Your Dad said they didn't want too much traffic in the IC.
Everyone here wishes you a fast and full recovery. You have been in our thoughts and prayers.
Your Step-bro,
Tony (Anthony)
P.S. stop heaving on the help!
Wow, what a medical piece of work you are Deuce! I love how you keep everyone guessing. But I think there has been enough drama for 10 lifetimes, so please end the game dude! I always have a special place in my heart for you and your family. Hang in there, get rest and get the hell out of that hospital! ~Darcy
Hi, what's your name? I miss the smack talk about your belove huskerhusker nation wide tour has ended on a bad note. Yes, i know my bawling Irish loss again (9) but next year we will be on top and your huskers will be singing "I'll be home for Christmas". I will see when you get back. Get well. Kevin
Duece - I hope that sister Mary is wearing age-appropriate shoes to visit you in the hospital. Mary and I work together - and she told me about your critique of her sassy Target shoes on a recent visit! Keep her in her place, man!
And, get better soon!
DEUCE!
I was just telling Charlie about this one Christmas break from school I can remember when Kelly and I stayed with you all in Seward and we watched 'Cloak & Dagger' about a million times. We must have been like 8 and 9. Do you remember that? Who knows where that memory came from, but about a half hour later is when Mare called to tell me that you were back in the hospital.
I'm sorry you're having a rough go of it right now, but I share everyone elses comments that you are SO STRONG, and you continue to inspire everyone who hears your story. You are in my prayers always, and I have several friends who have put you on their prayer lists as well. THere is NO WAY God could possibly go for an entire minute without hearing a prayer for you! You are so loved, always know that.
The next time you start to feel the upheaval approach remember the kink mobile conversion van and "Save it For Later".
I love ya, and that sister of yours is pretty special too. Give her a big smile for me, and who the hell has the grapefruit spoon now?
Hey Deucer-Hope next time I read your blog you are back at QLI and not planning any more trips to the hospital. You have a great family and bunch of supporters and more prayers going for you than can be counted. PLUS, you are one tough dude.
Keep on keepin' on. Ross and Artie
